Women’s Work Wear® designs flame-resistant (FR) clothing specifically for women working in refineries, oil & gas, welding, and industrial trades. Our FR garments are made with tested flame-resistant fabrics and evaluated to applicable industry safety standards. Our Women’s Work Wear® FR denim is built with certified flame-resistant fabric and designed for industrial environments where both flash-fire and arc-flash hazards may be present.

Our Women’s Work Wear® FR shirts are made with flame-resistant fabric designed for industrial environments where flash-fire and arc-flash hazards may be present. Certification, testing, arc-rating, and compliance information below applies specifically to our FR shirt fabric and corresponding certified garments.

The 8.0 cal/cm² is confirmed by the actual AITEX arc-test certificate for the shirt fabric, not something we're carrying over from the jeans. The shirt TDS also identifies the fabric as 6 oz, 93% cotton/7% spandex and reports NFPA 2112-2023, ASTM F1959 and NFPA 70E/ASTM F1506.
What Our FR Certifications Mean
NFPA 2112 — Evaluates flame-resistant garments for protection against short-duration thermal exposures from fire.
NFPA 70E / CAT 2 — Identifies arc-flash protective performance for electrical hazards. CAT 2 garments must have an arc rating of at least 8 cal/cm².
ASTM F1506 — Establishes performance requirements for flame-resistant and arc-rated textile materials used by workers exposed to electrical arc hazards.
ASTM F1959 — The test method used to determine a fabric’s arc rating (ATPV).
Arc Rating (ATPV) — Measures the amount of incident thermal energy a fabric can withstand before there is a 50% probability of second-degree burn injury. A higher number represents greater arc-flash thermal protection.
Certification Documentation
Women’s Work Wear® maintains certification and testing documentation for our FR garments and fabrics. Documentation may be provided to safety departments, employers, purchasing teams, and industrial facilities that need to verify applicable FR compliance before approving workwear for use on site.
